Grants
SEEDS is working to become a local block grant administrator for agricultural programs, including funding opportunities that support water efficiency and healthy soils practices. If approved, SEEDS would help connect farmers and ranchers with available funding, technical assistance, and local support to complete eligible on-farm projects.
These programs can help producers invest in practices such as improved irrigation systems, soil health practices, compost application, cover crops, hedgerows, and other approved conservation practices that improve long-term resilience.
SEEDS seeks to work with local and regional partners, including agricultural organizations, resource conservation districts, UC Cooperative Extension, technical assistance providers, schools, community groups, water agencies, and other nonprofit organizations.
Together, these partnerships can help provide outreach, education, technical assistance, project verification, and meaningful support for farmers, ranchers, students, and communities.
SEEDS is in the early proposal and application process. Farmers do not need to apply at this time. If SEEDS is selected as a block grant recipient, farmer application opportunities are expected to be announced at a later date.
